My name is Deanna. "Nanny Goat" is a treasured childhood nickname. I will be 44 years "young" this year. I am married to Robert, my best friend, and we have two wonderful boys. We live in the beautiful state of Colorado where Rob and I were both raised. I am so grateful that I am able to work at home doing what I love AND stay at home with my children. I am truly blessed.

My passion for primitives grew out of my love for antiques. During the early years of our marriage, we couldn't afford authentic primitives, so I started making my own. Soon I was making "old" things for our friends. With the encouragement of my wonderful husband, I now make "old" things full time!

As young children, my sisters and I were encouraged to keep our hands busy and our mouths shut, so we all learned how to knit, crochet and cross stitch. I learned to sew at an early age too by watching my Mom and my grandmother. Mom used to draw pencil lines on grocery sacks for me to follow on the sewing machine. Once I mastered that, she threaded the machine so I could really sew! LOL!! When Daddy bought Mom her new Kenmore machine, she handed down her old Morse (the Horse) sewing machine to us girls! That machine weighed a ton!

To help make ends meet, Grammy Byberg made custom draperies. My sisters, Debbie and Dawn, and I have many fond memories of playing "house" under Grammy's drapery board while she sewed away the afternoon on her old Singer. Grammy would give us her fabric scraps and her tin of buttons and we would create our dreams :) All three of us girls love to quilt. When Debbie visits, she brings her sewing machine and the three of us quilt non-stop for days ;) My best girlfriends in the world are my two sisters! Dawn's passion is Norwegian rosemaling. She is a gifted artist! Debbie's passion is quilting. Her award winning quilts are simply amazing!

While I was expecting Richard, my oldest boy, I started to sew and paint to supplement our income. I've been selling my handmades on eBay since 2006. Although I'm fairly new to selling primitives on eBay, I've been selling my handmade treasures for nearly fourteen years. Richard is now a crafter too! He sells his jewelry designs at a local gift shop and at craft shows! Our youngest boy, Andrew, loves to help me grubby my primitives.

When I am not creating primitives, crocheting, knitting or quilting, I enjoy "climbing" our family tree. Rob and I have traveled all over the country to meet some of our many wonderful cousins. Robert is an airline pilot and quite an artist. Rob retired in 2005 after twenty years in the Air Force. We are all very proud of his service to our country.

I am always making new things so please stop by every now and then to see what I'm up to.
