May 31 - June 12

Think Humanity was in the refugee camp to distribute 4,000 more mosquito nets in June 2008.

Every household member in the camp will now be protected under a bed net.

We will move on to Kyaka, another refugee settlement in Uganda.

Meanwhile we still need anti-malarial medication!

We are a non-profit under the name Think Humanity.

June 2009 we gave out another 2,000 mosquito nets. So far we have given out 8,000 mosquito nets to refugees in Kyangwali.

I traveled to Uganda to visit the Kyangwali Refugee Camp where I sponsor 3 Congolese orphans with their education through www.educateafrica.org

The trip has inspired me even further to help with these unfortunate refugees that have been displaced due to war in their native country - the DRC (Congo)

The orphanage broke ground in December 2007. The main building is almost finished. God bless all of you that helped in the construction.

The first building for the orphanage is complete. We still need to have $100 for each orphan to pay for uniform, shoes and books. Thank you Global Healing for the grant to finish the orphanage and livestock project. Photobucket

Part of our funding is through selling creative and unique journals. We make them ourselves and can make them to order. Photobucket

 

The cost of malaria nets and medication is shamefully cheap by our standards. At the same time it is out of the financial reach for many, if not most, of the women and children living in Kyangwali and the surrounding areas. These women and children are no different from us, they just happened to be born in an area of the world without the advantages we take for granted. How do these women feel as they stand by helplessly while their children are sick or dying from a preventable disease?

We would like to provide malaria medication and nets to as many of the mothers and children living in Kyangwali as we can. These purchases, which are inexpensive by our standards, can save lives.
