I live in Southern California. In January of 2002 my brother brought a Nantan iron meteorite back from Quartzite and I thought it was pretty cool, but it wasn't until I found meteorites on ebay in July 2002 that I got hooked. It is amazing how much of my waking mind is now consumed by meteorites. It is hard to find enough written material to satisfy my curiousity. My wife gave me a family vacation to Meteor Crater, the ruins of Nininger's meteorite museum and the Old Woman meteorite in Barstow. Maybe just mid-life crisis, but I am finding that everything I was ever interested in, is involved in the study of meteorites. I am ready to Buy, sell or trade meteorites, in order to form a more perfect collection.
Tears of the Moon and meteorites
I own a body jewelry manufacturing company called Tears of the Moon. We have a full machine shop at our disposal for tool making, experimentation and production work. My machinists and I have now cut several Iron and stony iron meteorites. My favorite and most dificult cutting job so far is a 121kg Campo. The 121kg piece revealed beautiful space minerals and took about four months of sawing to finish. The largest cut took a record 40hrs of saw time to get through it. Worth the wait, a 2 inch silicate nodule was revealed by the cut.
I have put a shop and lab together for finishing pieces at home. Etching and neutralizing specimens is quite a challenge. I am still having fun at it.

I have been a silver and goldsmith for over 20 years. I hand fabricated fine jewelry for 10 years and for the past 12 years have manufactured Stainless Steel, Titanium, Niobium and Gold body jewelry.
