SURVEY TIME!!!
I'm
conducting a survey of my customers. I hope you will
participate.

Buyers in Glass, Pottery & Porcelain!
Please check out my eBay
Store! I have changed my pricing strategy which has
lowered the prices on ALL my store items. Instead of "Best
Offer" with higher prices, I have lowered the prices on all
inventory to the rock bottom prices, LOWER than what the items
are selling for through eBay auctions! If you want a
bargain, MY EBAY STORE is the place to find it! |
Welcome to Ohio Pottery & Glassware!

I am committed to bringing
selected glass, pottery, and collectibles to my customers at an affordable
price and quality!
About Us:
I have been in the business of buying and selling fine glass, pottery, and
collectibles for several years. I have had booths at antique malls, have had
on line stores through other internet stores, a great web site but our main focus currently is eBay. We live just
outside Lancaster and Columbus Ohio.
Who I
am: I have always lived on a farm and loved my animals! My
main summertime past-time is mowing my 4 acre lawn!

I have a herd of American Alpine Dairy Goats!

Two Jack Russell Terriers (well, one is a mix but still the personality)
Spot & Pate'

A spoiled pet Rooster (Roose)

2 Great Pyrenees Dogs
Splish Splash & Shy Girl

And a bunch of cats!
Sunshine and Sirocco

I am a collector of antiques, especially antique glass! I also have
collections of Fenton, Cookie Jars, Hull Pottery, other Ohio Pottery, and a
house decorated in Antique furniture. I took a management buy-out at
FedEx to be home with Rodney a few years ago, and today my full time business is
selling the things I love to hold, look at, and then lovingly send on to new
homes!
My newest adventure is a revival of something I did many years ago, and that is
photography on a professional level! Take a look if you are
interested!

In Memorial:
James Rodney Smith
January 8,
1947 - August 1, 2005
On August 1 2005, Rodney lost his battle
with a flawed vascular system. God gained and the earth lost.
He is in heaven today and I'm sure he is fully restored from his long
fight and illness that plagued the last of his life.
To those who
didn't get the privilege of meeting Rodney, here is a bit about him.
He was born in Huntington WV, the son of
working parents. He served his country as a Marine during
the Vietnam War, then decided to get an education when he got out.
After getting a 2 year degree and playing
hippy for a few years, we met, married, and he went back to college and
got a Master's Degree in Horticulture and Agricultural Education.
Always and above all he was a workaholic and a "day off" would mean a
new fence, going to a show with a full string of animals, or tilling a
garden. Sitting down was something that there just wasn't
time for. And today I know that deep down he must have known that
he only had a short time on earth, so wanted to experience it all.
From 1973, when he purchased his first
dairy goats and moved onto a farm until he passed away, his love
was the land and his farm critters. He gave me 4 Dairy Goats as a
Wedding Present! You name it, we had them
through our 28 1/2 years of marriage. But the focus was always on
our Irish Dexter Cattle and our American Alpine Dairy Goats.
Rodney
taught 20 years in Fort Myers, Florida as a horticulture instructor,
then when we moved back to Ohio he became a 4H Extension Agent. He
loved both careers equally and excelled in both.
The above is usually what people say about a loved one who has gone to
heaven, but that doesn't tell about the person really.
Rodney was a quiet person, but had the greatest sense of humor which was
always in the abstract. He looked at things differently than most
people! He was so very intelligent and very modest in his ways.
Always, the 60's loomed not far from his ways!
He was also the most
courageous man I've ever met. He was stricken with a brain bleed on
June 2002 and he worked harder than anyone can imagine, every day,
trying to regain all that he had lost. He was a worker, a fighter,
and most importantly, a man filled with Grace.
He loved his
farm as well as
plants and plant science. We lived "the dream" the last few years
of his life as we opened a glass and pottery store in Lancaster, Ohio.
My eBay business grew from that storefront.
Rodney never
complained, always took what life gave him, and ran with it. No
matter how hard it was or how long the road might have been, he never
complained, always had a smile ready, and had a great sense of humor.
I still miss you
Rodney, each and every day!
