I am eclectic.  I enjoy collectig the old stuff.  But my hobbies are varied.  I enjoy the company and companionship of my family and my /birds/animals.  My store is named for Our #1 Big Boy "Murpheybird".  He is our Blue and Gold Macaw that we brought home when he was 13 days old, straight out of the nestbox with his parents.  What a thrill.  We fed every 2 hours and day and night.  My daughter says there is sibling rivalry but she is working on her part since she will inherit his care one day. Murphey is now 7 yrs old and he shares my sunroom with me, the computer, and 4 other birds, as well as our Boxer, Katie and Rat Terrier, Cassie. There is Rudie an African Grey, Homer the Amazon, Sydney the Cockatiel, and Marty the Canary.   I go by parrotgirl3 for the 3 parrots in our flock. The cockatiel and canary are not parrots in case you are wondering. It gets a little noisy but I love it.   Murphey has a huge vocabulary and talks in sentences including commands to the dogs and grandson when they get too roudy. We are surrounded by windows so we can watch the wild birds outside and still work.    So I am also a nature lover.  Murphey is better than a watchdog and will sound the alarm if anything unusual comes in sight like a hawk or squirrel gets too close. I like to cross-stitch, and crochet.  I also enjoy a greenhouse with lots of green stuff.   

I am also married to a wonderful man for 34 years and have a married daughter, and a grandson How convenient!  We love our son-in-law who is somewhat of a collector of the 70's items also.  My husband and I have jobs that we go to each day but when we're off we are out bargain hunting.  Our daughter has learned the art of garage sale-ing and ebay-ing and has a house full of collectibles too.   So dragging her kicking and screaming thru the resale and antique shops as a kid paid off.  She now has vivid dreams at night of finding a garage sale with kitchen collectibles for a quarter a piece.   Our grandson was recently overheard to say, "We need to find that at a garage sale!" when he was discussing a particular item/toy he wanted.  Nana and Papa have taught him well. Another comment he made recently made was "Papa, I have had this since I was a little baby" (he is now 5). So we feel the collector bug has bit him too.
