A software engineer with 40 years experience. Amongst other things, I am the inventor of timeBLASTER for eBay...a software tool that runs searches on eBay and creates Photo Albums of the results for each search on your computer. timeBLASTER can save you up to 90% of the time you spend running searches on eBay and clicking and waiting for downloads of item pages and images. For a while, timeBLASTER for eBay was sold under my 'philcomp' user id; it is now sold on eBay under the user id 'timeblaster'. You can learn more about timeBLASTER for eBay at www.timeblaster.com or by visiting timeblaster's page.
A philatelist (stamp collector) with interests in
United States Stamps other than Revenue Issues
Booklet Panes
Savings, Postal Savings, and War Savings Stamps and Documents
Postal Cards
Postal Stationery Entires
Vermont Stampless Covers
I specialize in collecting varieties, particularly color varieties, of United States stamps. I occasionally sell excess material from my collection on eBay. I am a member of numerous philatelic organizations including the American Philatelic Society, the United Postal Stationery Society, the United States Philatelic Classics Society, the United States Stamp Society Bureau Issues Association, and the Vermont Philatelic Society.
An avid reader of history, science, and fiction. From time to time I sell some of my books on eBay.
A frequent contributor to the eBay Stamps Chat Board. Through the board, I have helped to assemble recommendations to eBay regarding the organization of the Stamps categories. I also edited the Stamp Listing Guidelines that was available until recently (as of 05/16/03) from the eBay Stamps Category Page. I believe that the link on the eBay Stamps Category page was removed in anticipation of some up-coming category changes in the Stamps category.
A Favorite from My Collection: Cover with Scott 64a & 64b
The cover below is franked with two 3 cent stamps of the 1861 issue. The stamp on the left is the very scarce 64a Pigeon Blood Pink shade; the stamp on the right is a 64b Rose Pink. It is unusual to find two different color variants of the same stamp together on a cover because the stamps had to have come from two different sheets of stamps. The second image is a close up of the two stamps on the cover with a loose copy of the normal Pink shade of 64 along side. The cover has a Philatelic Foundation certificate #40245.
