A few years later, after joining various pin collecting clubs, my hobby turned to business and I began offering a variety of Olympic pins to a small mail order clientele. From July 1994 through November 1997 my pins were marketed through bimonthly mail order listings. When the 1996 Games were slated for Atlanta, there was a special excitement for all of us pin collectors who lived in the area. During that time, I became involved with an ambitious project to publish a guide book for 1996 Olympic pins. Being the pin editor for the Official Pin Guide of the 1996 Olympic Games was a great learning experience. During the Games themselves, I had a lot of fun being part of a small pin concession near the entrance to Centennial Park.

In March of 1998 I began selling pins solely on eBay under the business name Pinpal. Attending the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City allowed me to get some great pins and offer them to buyers. And I hope to do the same thing in future Games! My current inventory of pins for sale has grown to include Disney, Looney Tunes, Harley, various sports leagues, auto, and Coke. Collecting and selling pins is a great adventure…but my wife thinks I’m nuts!
