Important Information For Bidders
Please note that, as of Monday 11th December 2006, work commitments may cause a slight delay in answering e-mails and posting auction items. I will, of course, endeavour to deal with all matters as soon as possible and I apologise for any inconvenience.
Postage: The successful bidder is responsible for paying all shipping costs (postage & packing) for the auction item(s) and for providing their correct postal address for delivery.
Insurance: Available at an extra charge but please note that no replacement, refund or compensation will be made for loss or damage on UNINSURED items. I do pack items extremely carefully, however, I still strongly recommend paying just a little more for this additional insurance.
International Shipping: Auction items can be shipped worldwide by either Air Mail (expensive but relatively quick) or Surface Mail (cheaper but much slower) e.g. experience has shown that typical shipping times to the U.S.A. from the U.K. are 2 to 3 weeks for Air Mail and 2 to 3 months for Surface Mail.
In order to take advantage of the Royal Mail's Small Packet rate and keep costs down for you the buyer, items will (if possible) be posted in packages each weighing less than 2kg (2000g); this means that multiple items may be sent in several boxes (please note that although these packages may be posted simultaneously, they may not necessarily arrive at their destination at the same time).
Payment Terms:
U.K. bidders - by Personal Cheque in Pounds Sterling (not PayPal, sorry) or cash in person;
Overseas bidders - by PayPal (preferred method), or Traveller's Cheques (in G.B.or U.S.$ or Euros).
Buyers must contact me within 3 days of the end of auction and payment is expected within 10 days of the end of auction; failure to comply may result in negative feedback. Feedback: Buyers should e-mail me when their auction goods are received to arrange for the mutual exchange of feedback.
Placing a bid on any of my auctions indicates the bidder's agreement with and acceptance of the above Terms and Conditions of sale.

PORTMEIRION POTTERY
by Stephen P. Mckay & Steven Jenkins

Published by Richard Dennis in 2000, this 116 page large format (30.3cm x 22.5cm) hard-back book features 40 pages of colour photographs. It was launched on Thursday 29th June 2000 at the Gunnersbury Park Museum in Ealing, West London, with an accompanying exhibition of classic Portmeirion Pottery. A second launch party was held in Portmeirion's factory in Stoke on Tuesday 11th July 2000 and was attended by members of the Portmeirion Collectors Club as well as company founder and designer Susan Williams-Ellis, her husband Euan Cooper-Willis and many past and present members of Portmeirion's workforce. If you would like more information, please e-mail me.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. As you can see, my main interest is PORTMEIRIANA - items and things relating to Portmeirion Village in North Wales.
I first visited Portmeirion in 1985; all these years later I am still a regular visitor. It was while working on a project to salvage some architectural stonework from a building site in Liverpool that I first met Susan Williams-Ellis and Euan Cooper-Willis. Although the carvings still remain to be saved, Euan gave me a copy of his 1995 book "The Story Of Portmeirion Potteries - A Collectors' Guide". From that time, I have been an avid collector of Portmeirion Pottery and have one of the largest, if not the largest, collections. The items that I offer on eBay are mostly duplicate items from my own collection; discontinued designs dating from the earliest days of Grays' Portmeirion Ware to the latest "retired" items of Portmeirion's Botanic Garden.
In 1996, I started "The Magic Village", a magazine for other collectors of Portmeirion Pottery, Portmeirion Village Post Cards, other Portmeirion Ephemera and the books of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis and his family.
I admit that I am also a fan of the cult 1960s TV series The Prisoner and Doctor Who, both of which, of course, have a Portmeirion connection.
I am happy to answer your questions about either the history or identification of Portmeirion Pottery but I regret that I do not offer a free valuation service.
Kind Regards,
Steve.
