We are a husband and wife Ebay Seller team: Michael A. Frederick, RMCM(SS) USN Ret., former U.S. Navy submariner, and Judith Julia Montage, retired lawyer. We began our eBay business back in 1999 selling military collectibles. This evolved into three basic categories of products: (1) Polish pottery, (2) Ergonomically correct raised pottery dishes for cats and dogs, and (3) Military and other Historical Collectibles.
Poughkeepsie Polish Pottery is located in the Central West End, St. Louis, Missouri, with a view of the Gateway Arch. We named our business Poughkeepsie Polish Pottery because Mike was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, and both sets of his grandparents immigrated from Poland to the United States. His grandmother was a wonderful cook and he grew up enjoying Polish cooking and appreciating Polish traditions.
Here at Poughkeepsie Polish Pottery, we offer Polish pottery from several factories and in a wide variety of patterns and forms. Most of our pottery is from one of three factories in Poland: 1. Zaklady Ceramiczne Boleslawiec and 2. Fabryka Naczyn Kamionkowych “Manufaktura” and 3. Ceramika Artystyczna (CA). If we see something wonderful at another factory in Poland, we will probably pick it up! We carry the traditional and classic patterns, subtle patterns, unikat patterns and signature patterns.
We now work with the new distributor for Manufaktura exclusive signature patterns Robin (BB) & Bluebird (BE)and will be carrying a nice selection in these patterns from now on.
When we select pottery for our eBay listings, we look for tried and true old favorites but also try to add new and interesting pieces and fresh new patterns whenever we can. There are so many beautiful and unique patterns and forms. We welcome inquiries and if you have a wish list, let us know. Polish pottery is very durable and chip-resistant and can last for many decades with good care. However, as with all ceramic products, you should avoid extreme temperature changes. While this pottery is safe for use in the oven, there are a few guidelines to follow: avoid transferring dishes from the refrigerator to a hot oven or from the oven to a cold surface or cold water. For best results put your pottery in a cold oven and warm gradually. In addition, the entire bottom of bakers should be covered with food or some liquid to avoid possible cracking.
With attention to these precautions, your pottery will last and last.
