Only
hot-dip bluing is offered, as more often than not, cold-dip methods
leave much to be desired. Precision Bluing offers de-rusting, bead
blasting, total resurfacing and polishing. It is PB's goal to ensure
that no one feels like a number to us. Every customer is guaranteed
individual, customized and quality services.
Precision
Bluing offers a service that will take the metal surface of a weapon,
primarily gun barrels and receivers, to a higher level of beauty and
durability. Gun enthusiasts, owners of family heirlooms, and war
re-enactment participants utilize this process to:

restore a weapon to its original condition

customize the weapon

optimize a weapon for a specific function such as flat gloss for low reflectivity or high gloss for a presentational show piece

polishing
specific trigger parts enhancing the weapon's function, such as smooth
trigger pull, smoother cocking, burr-free, bolt placement

provide the weapon with a long-term corrosion-resistant protective coating

pricing is based upon the service offered. Many of the services can be

will be happy to give you an estimate! We have a standard price list here but these amounts may be more depending on the level of damage to your firearm.

We believe that a person has nothing if not their honor. Honesty is
huge in our family. No one can shame a child for lying like my husband
can! We are also a home full of humor. Respect of each other is
expected, but the laugh and practical jokes fly freely. (We once told
my daughter that her baby eyes were going to fall out just like her
baby teeth...) You have to figure that they're going to put us in a
home someday, so I have to "get" them while I can!

Alright, you say! "What on earth is this bluing??"
Well,
just in case you're not all that familiar with bluing, it is a chemical
process applied to all of the metal parts of your gun,
or golf clubs, or decorative swords, or knives, or..... It
protects the said item from rusting and if properly cared for,
need never be repeated. A wise investment!
How many family heirlooms can you think of that you've seen and just
shook your head over?
We
can make it look like new. Mark does high quality polishing as well,
should you want something in which you can see your reflection!
We
have reams of letters from very pleased customers should you be the
least bit hesitant in the quality of Mark's work, but believe me, you
will be absolutely thrilled. We've not had even one displeased
person leave here.
These pieces were both rusted and pitted upon their arrival here. This is the "after"!
Here's that nasty small print:
*We cannot blue handguns. The great state of New York is very pricy when it comes to the license to allow us to do this.
You
will still need to cover shipping both to and from Precision
Bluing. If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Greene, NY, about
one hour south of Syracuse, you may wish to come pay us a visit.
Mark is very happy to have customers personally involved in the process
of refurbishing their own weapon. You might find yourself
enjoying the whole thing! And you couldn't ask for better
company. I'll even provide you with coffee if you'd like!
No extra charge!
You
need to completely disassemble the gun and inventory the parts.
Keep a copy of your inventory list for yourself and send one along to
Precision Bluing.
And last, but not least, if you live in New York, we regret to say that we do need to charge sales tax.
