Thanks for stopping by my page!
I have been a collector of coins, paper money, tokens, medals and bullion (off and on) for almost 50 years. I got started when my father gave me a leather cigarette case full of some coins and paper money he had accumulated during his travels in Europe during World War II. Greenland. Iceland. United Kingdom. France. I was hooked! It also started my interest in numismatic items from all over the world, not just the US.
Over the decades I have built several collections and sold them as "life happened". Like many collectors, I wish I still had many of the items I have sold. Now my collecting interests are mainly higher-quality certified coins and paper money. I have lived in Chicago for almost my entire life, so I am also an avid collector of any tokens and medals with a Chicago theme.
Back in the early 1970s I would regularly have a bourse table at local shows, and became very familiar with that aspect of 'practical' numismatics. That was before there was anything such as third-party grading, so everything was sort of rough and ready. In a way I miss those days, but coin collecting has come a long way since then and is a lot more accessible to more people. This is a good thing.
I have been on eBay for over 10 years, both buying and selling. More buying than selling at the moment, but I do often have items for sale. I tend to sell the same type of things that I collect. Please check out my auctions and see if there is anything which may interest you.
For me, this is a hobby and should bring pleasure and enjoyment to those involved in it. I try to conduct all my dealings (buying and selling) with integrity, honesty, respect and sometimes a bit of humor. Life is too short to always be serious about everything!
