Hello, everyone, and thanks for taking the time to read a bit about me! My name is Rachael and I am a hardworking mother with a wonderful husband (most of the time!) and three great kids (most of the time!).
After dabbling in eBay here and there for a few years, my 2008 new year's resolution was to open my own store. I love this little hobby of mine. It gives me something of my own to focus on (I'm sure all stay-at-home mothers can relate to that feeling) and it incorporates many things I'm naturally good at.
I've always loved bargain hunting, so finding cool things that I can sell at reasonable prices isn't difficult. I love writing the descriptions and I do my best to make sure they are accurate. In fact, several buyers have emailed me saying that the item was better than they expected. Encouragement like that is very motivating and even though my descriptions require time to write, I believe the details I offer are critical to the confidence buyer's have shown in me... in my feedback score & with repeat business!
I love shipping, I love customer service... I love my little store! Even though eBay is more of a hobby than a business venture at this point, I still take it very seriously. I make every effort to ship fast because that's what my customers deserve. If there's a delay that can't be helped, I communicate via email so they aren't left wondering. I also make every effort to ensure prompt and professional customer service. I check email daily, and I address any customer concerns with my feet in their shoes. There are some bad-apple buyers out there, most sellers have met at least one, but I don't think we should give them the power to ruin it for the rest of us, do you?
In my experience, the eBay community is mostly comprised of reasonable people. If I ever become so jaded that I mistrust my buyers, I guess I'll just close my store because I've no desire to swim with sharks! I'm not that competitive... but my prices are!
It's true I list my items as low as possible, but I'm not one of those sellers that tacks on a hefty "handling" fee to offset the difference. In fact, I assure you that I do NOT do that. My shipping costs are calculated by location 95% of the time. A nominal handling fee is built into that quote... anywhere from zero to $2.00, depending on how difficult & expensive it is to pack the item. Bottom line, I'm a fair and honest person and I don't know how to act any other way. Have I ever been tempted... sure! But there's this little voice in my head that prevents me from being a jerk. A modest profit and clean conscience beats any quick-buck alternative!
In a nutshell that's who I am. That's me in real life, and that's me on eBay. If I have something to sell that you like, bid with confidence. You can take my word for it, or you can read what buyers and sellers have to say about me in the feedback forum.
Good Luck in your search for Great Deals!
- Miss Rachael
