Welcome to
Moody’s Postcards!
My name is Richard Moody and I LOVE
postcards and assume you have a similar interest in these windows into our past. Over the years I
have collected many of the usual collectibles beginning with stamps when I was a kid and then moved
on to coins, tokens, paper money, obsolete bank notes, national currency, toy guns, baseball cards,
autographed sports memorabilia and then I found postcards. I started my business in 1986 as a part
time job selling sports cards and autographed sports memorabilia while still working for the Air
Force as a civilian. I got out of the sports cards business in 1990 to concentrate on the autograph
business and postcards and “retired” from Civil Service in 1993. I dropped the autograph business in
1998 due to the unreasonable prices players were demanding for their autographs. Krause
Publications, the premier sports collectibles magazine publisher, awarded me their Customer Service
Award for 10 straight years from 1988 through 1997 and in 1995 I was named one of “The ten most
influential people in the sports autograph industry” by John Raybin in the Encyclopedia of Sports
Memorabilia magazine.

Vintage Collectible Topics Postcards
I have moved on from each of these areas because they lost
their appeal after a few years and I now only do postcards because they are truly magic. You can go
back in time and see the streets where you grew up, the swimming pool where you spent many childhood
hours and see the schools where you were shaped into what you are today. Now that is magic!

Collectible Vintage Foreign Views Postcards
Everybody collects something, even if they won’t admit it.
Postcards are the perfect collectible because you can find them on almost every possible subject
including all of the interests I mentioned above. Picture postcards, as we know them today, began
with the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and are still being produced. The Golden Age of
postcards is generally considered to cover the years 1907 through 1915. According to the
International Postal Union, over 140 BILLION postcards were mailed worldwide from between 1907 and
1920 and we know millions more were never mailed. You can almost certainly find postcards on
whatever you happen to collect so start looking or just look for postcards on the town where you
were born to refresh your childhood memories. You can learn more than you ever dreamed about just
searching through postcards and there are cards priced to fit every pocketbook.

Autographed Sports Memorabilia
I started selling on eBay in April of 1998 as a way to sell
out my inventory of sports autographs and memorabilia and began selling my postcards at the same
time. I have over 9,400 unique positive feedbacks on eBay and over 13,100 positive feedbacks in all.
My eBay store has mostly US view postcards at this time but I am expanding to list topics and
foreign postcards also.

Sports Memorabilia
I also have a
website you will want to visit where I sell postcards that are not
listed on eBay. We will be undergoing a rebalancing of our inventory between eBay and our
website over the next
few months due to recent changes by eBay in their pricing policy so be sure to check BOTH
Moody's Postcards eBay store
and Moody's Collectibles website
for your favorite postcards. Even though I am as busy as a one legged man in a stampede now, I
promise to add new items as fast as I can to help you fill your want lists or help in your genealogy
pursuits. We strive to exceed your expectations and provide a first class experience if you allow us
to help you with your collection. My faithful companions below suggest either cats or dogs as a
great subject to collect. We are here to help you so ENJOY!

I’m just 4 and already I collect cat
postcards!
