Hello and Welcome!

My name is Robert A. Sloan. I'm 54, multiply disabled and I live with my daughter, her husband, my two toddler grandchildren, our one year old Siberian Husky Zoe and my faithful Siamese sidekick, Ari Cat!

Despite my physical disabilities... I think I've had more adventure in the past half-century, than many of my able-bodied acquaintances. I've lived all over the USA, on both coasts and in over 20 different states.

I'm happy to say that I'm a Sci-Fi and Fantasy writer, an artist and a weirdo. My best-ever day job, was being a street artist in New Orleans. Now I sell my artwork online and Robs Art is all about visual art and ACEOs! I work in many mediums, including colored pencil, watercolor, scratch board, acrylics and more. I'm always trying new styles... from impressionism to humor and realism. I sell my artwork on eBay and ETSY... and I have an online gallery at DeviantArt.

I love to create and collect ACEOs (2.5" by 3.5" original art cards that may be bought and sold) and OSWOA® (4" x 6" original artwork, starting at $9.95 minimum bid). I am very active in both the ACEO and OSWOA® movements on eBay. I've won several awards and belong to many eBay groups.

I also love to write! I'm currently working on a Colored Pencil Realism Workbook and several novels. I'm a contributing writer in ACEO Magazine and I post numerous free articles at such places as HubPages, eHow and Qassia.

"ACEO" Stands for :  Art Cards - Editions and Originals

Historically... Artist Trading Cards (or ATC's), were 2.5" x 3.5" original works of art (traded only amongst artists). An ACEO is exactly the same thing, but they are intended for sale rather than trade. The ACEO acronym was created, to separate ACEOs from ATC's... out of respect for those who believe that ATC's should be for trade only. ACEOs provide a venue for artists to sell their small works and for the public (including non-artists) to collect these wee masterpieces.

ACEOs have one main rule... they measure 2.5" x 3.5" (the size of a standard trading card or ATC). They are always this size, no exceptions. These highly collectible cards are as varied in theme, composition and materials as are larger works of art. They will fit in most trading card albums, sleeves and frames... which makes them easy to handle, display, trade or store. ACEOs are a fun and affordable way, to collect and trade original works of art!

ACEOs may be Originals (paintings, drawings, etc...) or they may be Editions (limited or open edition prints). Make sure you read the item listing carefully and know whether you will be buying an Original or an Edition. If it's an Edition... it should be signed and numbered by the artist.
