Randall Pinson, the founder of Rocket Auctions first discovered ebay in the spring of 2000. He was managing a cell phone store and had purchased a large load of liquidated cell phone equipment under the presumption that it would work with the service providers that he was promoting. He later discovered that the phones were all locked and they were worthless to the company. A co-worker suggested that he try listing one of the phones on eBay. Willing to give anything a try, he set up an eBay account and posted one of the phones. The $25 phone was quickly purchased at $125. Not only did Randall recover the expected losses on the phones, he turned an amazing profit with what had previously been a worthless pile of junk. Needless to say, the lightbulb lit in the Spring of 2000 and Randall discovered the power of eBay. He began selling on eBay full-time shortly thereafter and 2 years later set up the corporation 'Rocket Auctions, Incorporated'. Randall continues to manage the affairs of running a very profitable eBay business as well as training new users to sell and develop their own businesses.
