About my sales here on ebay:

I offer cruelty-free feathers,  plants, wildflower seeds, nature coloring pages, review copies of books that publishers and authors send me (many of them autographed), as well as my own artwork, some ebooks I've written, reincarnation consultations, and other odds and ends.

 Please note that I never, ever use reserves -- I consider them to be a big waste of the buyer's time. My starting prices may be a bit higher than those one-cent reserve sales, but they are real auctions!

Cruelty-free feathers 

I sell cruelty-free feathers from my domestic geese and chickens during molting season. (My wife and I are ovo-lacto vegetarians, we do not slaughter, and our birds are free-run.)   These are excellent for making quill pens for Jewish calligraphy, Renaissance festivals and other re-enacting events. And you know they came from happy birds who are not kept in tiny factory-farm cages or painfully force-fed for making fois gras, heaven forbid. These feathers fell naturally from the birds as part of the annual moulting process, and were personally collected by me.

I also sell feathers I get from other people who have happy, well-cared-for companion birds.  You can rest assured that no birds were harmed in obtaining any feather that I sell.

If you care about the "energy" in your craft materials (and you should if you are using quills for Jewish calligraphy, because cruelty to animals, tsaar baalei chayim, is forbidden) then get some of these feathers. Cat lovers please take note:

Our place has also become an unofficial cat sanctuary -- we didn't plan it that way, but that's how it turned out.  Stray cats keep showing up here -- maybe because they know I love them! When I was a kid I wanted a cat, but my mother said no -- so I vowed that when I grew up, I'd have all the cats I wanted! Well, be careful what you ask for... At this time, our cat colony is up to 14 loving, furry, purry friends -- such as Sapphire, the cat I am holding here, or Chayah Cat, who showed up cold and starving on my doorstep during sub-zero weather in January 2007 Read her story on my blog.)  She's doing fine and here to stay.

We try to get everybody spay/neutered ASAP, but it gets expensive -- so I sell souvenir feathers (complete with a thank-you card autographed by me) and my original cat photos to help pay the vet bills. You can find these sales under "Help Animals" in my eBay store.  Buy one now and help a kitty!
