THE EVERYTHING 4 LESS STORE
Thank you for visiting here...
We have been in business for over 20 years delivering high
quality products at discounted prices. We offer some of the most original and
rare products not available anywhere else. We have something for everyone in the
family and most of our products make wonderful and useful gifts for those hard
to shop for friends and family. We have our own in-house production and
manufacturing facilities assuring high quality while also being highly
economical. We believe in trying to be good stewards of the environment and
control our use of non-essential plastics and paper usage when it comes to our
products. We do not believe in supplying non-essential boxes and plastic cases
that add to the consumption of fossil fuels and forest deforestation. We devote
our time and resources in giving you the highest quality products at the lowest
possible prices. If non-essential fancy boxes and plastic cases with artwork are
that important to you then we suggest that you pay the higher prices and buy
those items elsewhere. We could certainly add the Boxes and Cases and charge
more money for our products but we believe that most customers are really
interested in the product itself and those boxes and cases go largely ignored
after time and do not add to the actual product being purchased anyway. Read our
Feedback. 99.9% can't be wrong.
Speaking of Feedback....
Effective May 18th, 2008 eBay has instituted a new Feedback
Policy that does not allow sellers to leave truthful and honest feedback for
buyers. While this policy may seem popular with buyers at first, we feel in the
long run it will not be beneficial to either buyers or sellers. Probably 95% or
more of eBay buyers are good people, but there is that approximately 5% who are
not familiar with eBay or the products they purchase or worse. The point is that
the system is now unbalanced and many sellers will get far more negatives and
lose selling status and eventually leave eBay thus customers losing choices when
it comes to buying. It is a vicious circle and one in which we now have no
control over whatsoever. Feedback is very important to a seller. It determines
how the rest of the eBay buying community views their trustworthiness. Feedback
is not as important to a customer as most sellers only want to make a sale and
are not too concerned nor have the time to read every buyers feedback before an
auction ends. We do not fully comprehend the logic involved with this feedback change
as we liken this to every student in school taking a test and 5% could
completely flunk the test yet get an A+. We are not alone in our thinking as
most sellers agree leaving feedback for buyers is now
pointless and serves no useful purpose in determining if a buyer is a good buyer
or a problem buyer. We hope that all of our customers understand our position
and continue to shop with us. We certainly do not purchase items from eBay
sellers for feedback purposes and neither should you. When we shop at our local
retail stores or other internet sites we do not leave feedback for them nor do
they for us. We just say THANK YOU to each other and HAVE A GREAT DAY! As most
buyers on ebay seem to think feedback is important we leave feedback
approximately once per month. We do not have time to deal with it every day or
even every week. We only leave feedback once we receive feedback from you the
buyer. After you have left your feedback letting us know that you are satisfied
then we do likewise. And please follow your Mother's advice "If you do not have
anything nice to say, then do not say anything at all".
Education about the DSR's....
As part of the feedback process eBay now allows buyers
to rate sellers on 4 crucial areas. On a scale of 1 thru 5 (1 being lowest and 5
being highest) each buyer can rate a sellers performance on 1. Item as described
2. Communication 3. Shipping time 4. Shipping and handling charges. This seems
like a good system to inform other buyers on a sellers performance except that
it does not take into account the fact that eBay uses these ratings to determine
a sellers ability to sell or not being able to sell on the site as well as the
placement of their listings in the search listings. The first problem with the
DSR's and their ratings is the scoring of those ratings. Giving a seller
anything less than a 5 could seriously undermine their ability to sell on eBay.
If any seller's ratings on any of the 4 ratings falls under a 4.3 average those
sellers are deemed not good seller's and not allowed to sell on eBay. The
problem is that when going to the feedback page and giving these ratings it
states that a 4 is good. If buyers give 4 ratings for their sellers then those
sellers will not have good enough ratings to sell on eBay! So to make a long
story short if you have no problem with your purchase and are inclined to rate a
seller please leave them a 5 rating. Even though your transaction may not have
been "perfect", just giving them a 4 is not acceptable for them or eBay.
Another issue with the feedback and DSR ratings is that it
does not take into account the number of non-feedbacks left. We currently on
average only receive approximately 50% feedback on all of our sales
transactions. So only 1/2 of our transactions are considered for feedback and
DSR ratings. We would assume that those transactions were acceptable and those
customers had no issues or we would have heard from them. So the question is why
are these not also considered and automatically rated at the highest level once
the time for feedback to be left has elapsed.
Our final 2 cents on the facts...
If you have a problem with a product that you purchased from
us then please contact us first and give us a chance to correct if possible.
Yelling and screaming at us will not make the problem disappear or correct
itself. Most times it is just a matter of not using the product correctly etc.
and can be resolved easily and quickly. Please do not base your feedback or DSR
ratings on issues such as you failed to read the entire listing and comprehend
what you were buying. If you are confused or not sure then ask us a question
before you buy. All of our items are quite detailed and there should be no
confusion whatsoever on what you are purchasing so please read.
THE X Y Z FACTOR...
We have seen on many blogs, boards and discussion forums
issues regarding shipping and handling charges and just how much is fair, etc.
Well, eBay has now instituted a maximum amount sellers are able to charge for
shipping and handling charges in specific categories. We won't debate that issue
as it is a hot topic for many seller's and we will leave it at that. What we
will talk about is the X Y Z factor or equation. We have actually heard a debate
on "what the cost of an item is" and were quite surprised by what people think.
Here is the logic X = The Cost of the item. Y = Shipping and Handling. Z = The
Total Price of the item plus the Shipping and Handling. Simple really X + Y = Z.
In other words, "what comes out of your pocket is what it cost you." We read
debates from a daughter and her father arguing about this. The daughter thought
that what the item Cost was was the actual cost (Y only) while the father
thought that X + Y = Z was, which is correct. When you buy a car, a house, etc.
by borrowing the money you have many other costs involved, loan fees, taxes,
etc. Your loan amount is not for say $10,000 for that car or $100,000 for that
house but much more depending on those other fees. Even when you go to the store
and they charge sales tax it must be figured in when you write that check to see
if you have enough in the bank to cover it. Z is the true amount. Period. End of
debate. That leads us to the next factor of buyers complaining about shipping
and handling charges. Every company has different costs when it comes to
shipping and handling (it is not just postage). Every company pays their workers
different wages and use different supplies. Just because one company charges
$3.00 to send a widget and the other company charges $4.00 does not mean they
are over charging you for shipping and handling. What you have to do is simple
math. Add X + Y to see what Z equals. If you do this you may be surprised to see
that the company with Z total that is lower may have a higher Y cost but a lower
X cost. This should not mean anything to you as a buyer except that by doing
this simple math it may save you money. If you are happy with the Z total from a
seller then bid and be happy with your purchase. Do not be consumed by the X or
the Y amounts. All that is relevant when bidding or buying a product is the Z
total. So please do not ding the DSR scores on sellers if you do not do
this simple math when bidding or purchasing their products. If you do not like
the Z total then please do not bid or purchase their items. They would much
rather have happy customers than ones that complain after the fact.
