Mission
Park Slope Geriatric Day Center helps older people avoid premature institutionalization
by providing a range of services to those with a diminishing ability
to function independently. Our Adult Day Programs help participants
ward off isolation, increase their functional skills, and develop meaningful
relationships with other elders who have similar limitations. We believe
that human beings, regardless of age or degree of impairment, can benefit
from continuing to participate in the life of a community where they
are accepted and have opportunities to experience a sense of purpose
and success. Our members are not pressured to be anyone they are not,
and they are encouraged to be everything they can.
