The complete STW/NASCAR Odd-Cents/sup> system

It is always a good idea to add a few "odd-cents" to your bid. If you look at many bid histories on eBay, you will see many auctions end with the winning bidder bidding an odd amount (say $20.01) and the second place bidder bidding an even amount (say $20.00).
It is important that you add odd cents to your bid so that you are not disappointed.

Who wouldn't pay a few pennies more for an auction, just to save them the hassle of finding another item?

Well, here are some very easy steps for determining your bid amount.

1. Find your widget.
Learn to search effectively and use that watch list!

2. Determine your "true-maximum" amount.
This is the amount you tell your spouse or significant other you spent without fearing they will send you to the couch for the night!

3. Add $1 to the above number.
No one wants to lose over $1. See Note 1 below.

4. Determine this week's STW/NASCAR Odd-Cents/sup> amount.

Find out the winning car number from the last NASCAR race. This becomes your STW/NASCAR Odd-Cents/sup> amount! Kind of.
If numbers 1 or 01 happen to win the last race, use $0.03. Everyone bids a penny over whole numbers. Don't get caught here.
If number 99 happens to win the last race, use $0.03. Bidding $0.99 over the whole dollar is a good way to lose.
If numbers 24 or 48 happen to win the last race, use $0.03. Trust me.

5. Add the amount found above to your total and bid this amount!
You won't win every auction, but you won't get caught being a few pennies short as often!

Note 1: Feel free to substitue $5, $10, $20, $50, or $100 in the place of $1. The price of the auction, personal wealth, and your level of desire need to be taken into account here.
