Hello Everyone. Welcome to The Monetary Unit where I always try to bring you a massive variety of notes and coins for your collecting pleasure. Because most people collect by Country or Topic, I try to make it easy to find what you are looking for, whether it's notes from Aruba or coins with turtles.
Sometimes my prices may not be the best on Ebay, but you can be sure that you'll be satisfied with your purchase from me. Just check out my feedback and you'll know why. I am always glad to accept returns and I will make it as easy as possible for you if you are not satisfied with your note or coin.
About contacting me: I always strive to respond to questions and comments quickly and thoroughly. If you see an error in one of my listings, your comment or correction is most welcome. Because SPAMMERS like to attack ebay users with their fraudulent emails, please use the Ebay system to contact me. Once I know you are a legitimate buyer, I'll be glad to email directly with you outside of the security of the Ebay system.
A final note on special offers: I am often contacted by people who want to make deals outside of the ebay system. This is strictly forbidden by Ebay, so if you contact me to make such a deal do not be surprised when I do not respond. I have worked hard to get my good standing on Ebay and will not jeopardize it to make a deal here and there. Ebay has been pretty good to me, so I owe them that respect and fairness. It is nothing personal when I do not respond, it is strictly business.
Besides my Ebay store and auctions, I also have my own website, www.themonetaryunit.com, where I can list a much larger variety of notes and coins, and, eventually, stamps. I've laboriously made keyword lists for all of my items and scanned original images of them so that you can search for and see exactly what you want.
On my site, just type a word that represents your topic of interest, whether it's trains, boats, birds, lizards, royalty, trees, flowers, or whatever, and then hit search and you'll see what I have. Just click on the icon left of each item description and you'll see a new window with a picture and description of the specific item.
I've just added over 100 new banknotes to the site, so just click on the What's new tab to view the latest additions to The Monetary Unit. I have also added a Photoblog where you can view pictures of my various trips to money shows around the world. You can currently see pictures from the Money Show of the Southwest on the homepage. Just click the Photoblog link to navigate to a selection of prior blogs that show trips to Amsterdam, Hong Kong and other interesting shows. I'll be attending the Baltimore Coin and Currency Show in the end of March, so if your in the Baltimore/DC area the week of March 26, come on down!
