How did I get started on ebay?
That is a really good question! It should be how ebay "started" me! I joined in August of 2000. First I started selling neat items that I found in thrift stores and was amazed at what people would buy (Special findsbylaflory!). Eventually, I started selling off my daughter's dance costumes. That lead to Laflory's Discount Dance Costumes. I found a market that needed filled.
When my daughter was dancing and competing, I remember how hard it was to find competition costumes - I had to make them! There was no ordering one or two costumes from any manufacturer in November! And when she was doing musical theater, the costumes they were putting her in were awful! You can't complain if you are not helping, so I started volunteering, and I had to find sources - thus the store!
Now, six years later, both daughter and Mom have grown up, well sort of! My daughter is in college majoring in theater, dance and vocal production. As for me, well, I am now everyone's "Stage Mom"!
