Welcome to my little
corner of eBay...
There's not much here now. I hope to post some pictures here in the
future. Mostly pictures of my tube gear collection. I use the nickname
"Stereomaster" because I started collecting Scott tube gear. The part of
my collection for Scott gear has ended up looking like an orphanage for
340's and 340B's. I've only seemed to have been able to obtain only Scott
340's. I'm restoring a 340B right now. It's come a long way too. It was
battered and had a burned up filter capacitor. Ended up getting way more
Fisher tube gear. I have been exclusively collecting 7591A type tube based
output equipment only. Makes maintaining an inventory of output tubes simpler.
People send me extra 7591A's with the receivers I have gotten from them.
I now have a stash of 35 or so strong 7591A's. All of my units are powered
up with no tubes when I first get them so I can measure the 7591A bias
voltage. Saves on a lot of grief later on. Some have measured as high as
-14V. If you know 7591A's, you know they should never be more positive
than -19V. All my units are set for around -22V to -23V. When I first get
them I replace the bias rectifier and all 4 coupling caps from the phase
splitter stages to the 7591A grids. I learned to always do this the hard
way. I glowed an expensive pair of strong 7591A's in my Sansui 1000A when
I in swapped a strong for the weak ones that were in there. Found all 4
coupling caps to be leakers. An expensive lesson well learned.
My collection consists of:
