Books (and occasionally other goodies) from Stfbooks
Stfbooks was created to sell books and other related items (e.g., audiobooks, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, computer software, etc.) that are donated to the Friends of the Stafford Library in Stafford, Connecticut. Items offered for sale may be from individual patron donations, may be from estates, or may have been withdrawn from the library collection. All proceeds after fees and shipping costs go to the Friends of the Stafford Library. See our website for more information: http://www.staffordlibrary.org/friends_of_library.phtml
For the past several years, we have raised from $2,800 to $3,700 per year through our on-line book sales (eBay, half.com and Amazon)! The Friends use the money to help fund library-related equipment and functions. The Friends have used the money we've raised on line to finance the following:
The in-library coffee bar, including furniture and equipment;
The children's summer reading program and a digital camera to document the children's special programs;
The purchase of special additions to the library's collection (e.g., classic books-on-tape; foreign and independent films, etc.)
Equipment including tv/vcr, podiums, a die-cutter for use in the children's library and a laminator;
Reduced-fee membership cards to many local attractions that are available to library patrons;
A handsome granite sign at the entrance road into the library and wooden benches in the yard surrounding the library for patrons to enjoy on warm summer days;
A 1:1 matching program for funds raised by the library's Young Adult Advisory Council;
Much more!
