Dozer our breeding bull
|
We raise Registered Tibetan Yaks on our farm in northern Idaho. We raise yaks for fiber, packing, breeding, pasture pets and meat. The yak is a beautiful and unique animal. They have long 'skirts' that hang almost to the ground, a horse like tail and a shoulder hump. Their underdown is shed in the spring and we hand comb it out. Their fiber is soft and compares in warmth to cashmere. I also sell other exotic fibers and yarns like buffalo, camel, qiviut, silk, flax and hemp.

Yaks are native to the Himalayan mountains of Tibet, Nepal and the surrounding countries. Their meat is extremely lean because their fat is located on the outside where it can be easily trimmed. This creates the meats unique tenderness. Yak is not gamey or greasy.
You can find me at fiber shows in the Pacific Northwest. You can see all the fibers and yarn that I have available. If you are interested in something I do not have just ask and I will do my best to find it. Please stop by and say hello.
Please visit our website www.packriveryaks.com for more photos and information on the yak.
