I love collecting china, glass, pottery and everything shinny! Ever since I was a little girl and went to sales with my Dad, I have had a passion for old stuff (we now call it Vintage or Retro).  When others went looking for games and toys, I was looking for that pretty porcelain tea cup, a colorful pottery bowl, or a sparkling piece of art glass, not to mention cool stuff that I could make something from.  You see, I love creating something from what might be thrown away!  Old stainless & silverplate forks, spoons and knives can make a great wind chime, napkin rings and even finger rings!  It’s hard to toss something with crafty possibilities in the trash, because you know…. someday I might be able to make something from it!

It is this passion that created Sunroom Treasures.  I like to think of it as a home store with almost anything you can think of that you might need or use in your home or garden. You will find some lovely new items and gifts like a Royal Doulton Pretty Lady figurine or a Vera Wang vase that was so unique or special that I just knew someone else would think so too.  You will also find some new dinnerware with name brands like Johnson Brothers, Mikasa and Noritake.  And let’s not forget the holidays with Department 56, Radko and Steinbach Nutcrackers. Isn’t our world wonderful!

But really now, who needs new when there are so many wonderful treasures to reclaim, reuse and repurpose from the past?  I really enjoy being earth friendly and repurposing as many of the great items from times gone by as possible.  It may be helping a granddaughter finding some vintage dinnerware to complete Grandma’s Jewel Tea china set or someone like me trying to find that elusive serving piece to my Oneida Rogers flatware set.  Collectors are always searching for that rare piece of Murano, Blenko, or Fenton art glass.  If you have a guy in the house we have many collectible beer steins from Germany such as the Budweiser Holiday Mugs and lots of fun collector coffee mugs.  And of course I love to create gifts that can be made from all of them, ready for you to give!

Here at Sunroom Treasures I share my finds with you in a couple of different ways. 

• One of course is the usual way; I find that must have pretty vintage tea cup or crystal vase, enjoy it for a bit, and then put it in our store waiting for its next admirer.
