Hello!  My name is Yolanda.  I was born to Dutch parents who had immigrated to Toronto, Canada where I was raised and lived for the first 38 years of my life.  I now live in San Diego with my wonderful husband and our three labs – a black lab mix, a chocolate lab and a yellow lab who are without doubt the sweetest dogs in the world.

I came into the world of Deltiology quite by accident.  When I moved to San Diego, one of my nieces back in Ontario, who is a horse fanatic, mentioned that she wanted to start collecting horse postcards.  So I thought I would send her one once in a while, and turned to eBay to find some (because eBay is the first place I turn to for anything – the first words out of my mouth if anyone says they can’t find something is “Have you tried eBay?”)  In searching for horse postcards, I ended up buying some lots that contained other cards I didn’t really need, so I turned around and sold them on eBay.

I bought some reference books and did some online research and started learning more and more about postcards – the different eras, the different types, and what is collectible.  And thus was born a new passion!

I love the linen postcards, and will be listing a large collection of Large Letter greetings.   

I love listing cards ... and I love dealing with postcard collectors – they are without doubt the finest group of people on eBay.  eBaying brings me much satisfaction and much contentment.  I love sitting at my desk, computer in front, scanner to the side, a view of the mountains as I lift my head to look out the window … and list, list, list! 

Naming my store THE MAPLE LEAF is of course a nod to the Canadian heritage I’m wildly proud of.  I love this country that I’ve chosen to live in, but my heart will always be Canadian.
