Somerville Junction
The Somerville Junction kit includes everything needed to service steam locomotives including a 500-1,000 Ton Conveyor-Type Coaling Station, a 65,000 Gallon Water Storage Tank with two Water Stand Pipes, a Two-Track Sand Column, and a Cinder Plant (a service function often over looked). This kit is based on standard Fairbanks-Morse, Roberts & Schaefer, and Ogle Engineering Company designs for reinforced concrete and steel constructed facilities built between 1920 and 1940. These structures were used until the end of the steam locomotive era in the 1950. Once the hub of activity in the railroad yard, many of these structures still stand today as a reminder of Steam Golden Age. Model SVJ103. Only $65.95.
Shue Cement Company
The Shue Cement Company represents a composite of several industrial buildings located across the United States. It combines the structural elements of modern aggregate plants with the typical construction practices from early in the last century. Though ementwas used in the title of this kit, the completed model can easily be used as a processing plant for lime, clay, gravel and sand. This kit can also be built as a backdrop or low-relief model. The assembly steps that apply to this version of the model are labeled as such in these instructions. Model SCC702. Only $69.95.
