Combined Shipping Policy

We get alot of questions on how combined shipping works. To make it easier to understand I will explain our policy in more detail here. 

Our goal is to charge the actual cost for shipping your items plus $1.40 handling per order. The $1.40 is only charged ONCE per order... not per item.

We use Ebays automatic calculator on all our items for shipping. This is the most accurate method available without manually calculating the shipping for each order. If you are ordering just a few items the calculator is usually within a few cents of the actual charge. If you are placing a large order I would recommend requesting an invoice before paying as the calculator normally overcharges with larger orders.

Why does it overcharge?

1) When listing items we have to include the weight of packaging for each item. For most items the packaging is .5 ounces so it adds up with each item.

2) Weight is in whole ounces, but many LEGO items are very light ... some as little as .1 ounces. The extra .9 ounces can add up quickly. 

EXAMPLE:

You purchase 20 items each weighing .1 ounces. The Ebay calculator will see a weight of 20 ounces and charge shipping accordingly. 

--Each item is .1 ounces plus .5 ounces for shipping. Weight is then rounded to 1 ounce per item for a total of 20 ounces. 

The ACTUAL weight for this order would be around 2.5 ounces. This would result in a rather large overpayment of shipping. if you request an invoice I would charge based on the 2.5 ounces. 

--Each item is .1 ounces (20*.1=2 ounces) Packaging is then added at .5 ounces for a total of 2.5 ounces.

QUESTIONS:

Why do you charge a handling fee?

It is actually the cheapest and fairest way of accounting for certain costs. The packaging for example... if we include the cost of packaging materials in each item the cost per item would go up for EACH item... if you order 10 items you would pay for the packaging needed to ship each item. In reality, the packaging might be the same whether we ship 1 or 10 items. The end result if we did not charge handling would be an overall higher price charged to you. 

What if I am in a hurry and dont want to wait for an invoice?

Go ahead and pay. Ebay will combine the items automatically. If you think there will be a large difference in the shipping cost just send us an email after paying. We will refund the excess when we ship the order. You MUST contact us for this ... we cant double check the cost on every item but we are happy to refund the difference if we know about it.
