Hello ! My name is Bill March. I'm a Mechanical /Design Engineer by day. My two favorite sports are ice hockey, and NY Vol. Fire Dept. Drill Team Drag Racing (see link below). The rest of my spare time, I'm building a large model railroad depicting Conrail operations throughout Western NY and PA in the late 1980's. My other hobby is hiking alongside 100+ year old RR tracks in search of valuable antique glass insulators. I have a collection of 200+ in almost every color, shape, and style imaginable. The most valuable so far was a threadless green glass insulator dating to the 1860's which was dug out from the ground by a washout or groundhog.
More About me:
I was born in March 1972 and raised in a prestigious suburb of Rochester, NY. Following graduation from high school, I left home to attend college at the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) to pursue an engineering degree and play on the ice hockey team.
In 1996, I attained my Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Without a job, social life, or even a computer, I persued many activities rather than wait for a job to find me:
Eventually I was employed by C-M corporation as a Sales/Applications Engineer outside Buffalo, NY. I designed and sold large, high capacity crane system equipment (up to 800,000 lbs.) to various industrial plants worldwide. I helped lead the Cady Lifter Division to break annual sales records several consecutive years in a row before I was laid off (seniority issue) around the time of the 9/11 attack when the heavy manufacturing sector took a dive. I worked for the last 3 years in a factory assisting and managing the production of electrical distribution products.
As of September 2008 I have been hired to work for a Nuclear Licensing group in an office located in central Alabama.
