UNLOCKING THE HIDDEN VALUE IN YOUR PRE-OWNED WATCH
TradeInWatches offers you three different solutions for unlocking the value in your pre-owned watch. Essentially your decision comes down to three factors: if you want to purchase a different watch, the length of time you are willing to wait to receive your value, and the trade-off between the time until you receive your value and the amount it will be. Details of your three options follow:
TRADE-IN
Our core business. A customer submits a trade-in request through our website or by calling us directly. Trade-in quotes are typically given within 24-48 hours of the request submission, sooner if the item is common in our database. Once the customer receives a trade-in credit, it can be used immediately towards a purchase, but it HAS to be used towards a purchase, this is not a cash price. You can use multiple trade-in quotes towards the purchase of a single item as well.
SELL
We do buy watches outright from consumers. Our buy price is 80% of the trade-in credit. You can submit your watch in the same manner as a trade-in, just note you want to “sell” in the “comments” field. If you decide to sell to us, you send us your watch and we send you payment by check or PayPal. You will receive cash to use in any manner you wish, but with this option you will receive the lowest value for your watch of any of your options.
CONSIGNMENT
We will sell your watch on a consignment basis. With this option you will receive the highest value, but you will have to wait the longest time to receive your funds. Within the consignment choice, there are two options: auction and fixed price.

you may do so for a 100% refund of your purchase price. The original shipping charge is not

90-DAY BUY-BACK GUARANTEE **
At any time up to 90 days from purchase, you can return your watch to TradeInWatches for a
guaranteed percentage of your original purchase price. The percentages are as follows:
7-30 days - you receive 80% of your original purchase price
31-60 days - you receive 75% of your original purchase price
61-90 days - you receive 70% of your original purchase price
Beyond 90 days - you must submit the item for a trade-in quote
** This only applies to pre-owned watches, not items listed as "NEW"
90-DAY STANDARD AND 1-YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTIES
Every watch comes with a 90-day warranty (except watches classified as "vintage" which
receive a 30-day warranty). The details of the warranty are sent with each watch purchased.
The watch is warrantied to be free from defect. The warranty does not cover any damage
caused by the user. You also have the option of purchasing an extended warranty to 1-year
from the date of purchase for a nominal amount of $25.
10-POINT INSPECTION PROCESS
Every watch goes through a 10-Point inspection process by a certified watchmaker to
ensure the watch functions properly. We check the following:
(1)Caseback Seal, (2)Crystal Seal,(3)Crown Seal, (4)Test for water resistance to rating and
repressurize if necessary, (5)Checked for accuracy of keeping time to meet manufacturer
standards,(6)All functions are tested to see that they work properly, i.e. chronograph, alarm,
date, et. al., (7)Band clasp is inspected to make sure it works properly and adjusted if
necessary, (8)Bezel is inspected to make sure it works properly, if applicable, and repaired if
necessary, (9)Crystal is inspected to make sure it has no leaks if it is scratched (scratches
are divulged in listings, though they are very rare), (10)All watches are completely
authenticated, including the movement
THIRD-PARTY APPRAISAL/INSPECTION
Every watch is inspected by WATCH WORKS. Watch Works is a leading watch retail chain in Southern California with 11 locations. In their appraisal process they authenticate every item to be genuine from the stated manfacturer. Their third-party appraisal can be used home owners insurance purposes. Their appraisal is for the retail value of the item, not your purchase price. This is not an offer to purchase the item by Watch Works. We will mail you their appraisal if requested.
