Upper Canadian Stamps

Hello,

I am Brad Fallon, the owner of Upper Canadian Stamps.  I have been collecting stamps since I was about 6 years old.  It has been the one constant throughout my life.  I have had many collections, and usually sold them at some point.  As much as I would have liked to have had the time to specialise in some sort of philatelic area, time and money have prevented that.  I only have a small collection now days, but I just love looking at and sorting stamps.  So I like to buy large collections and break them down.  I can't afford to keep most of the material, so I grab a small fraction of the material that I really like, and sell the rest.  I usually like a stamp not because of its age or value, but because of the more aesthetic qualities of it such as printing quality, colour, composition, or just subject matter.  It can be a cute animal scene issued last year, or a beautifully engraved bust from the 1850's.

I also like selling to other collectors.  I don't do this to make a fortune.  My postage rates are generally low and most of my stamps are priced at quite a bargain.  Most of the money I make right now, just goes back into buying more stock.  I suppose my dream is to retire at age 55 (14 short years away), and be able to live off of some investments and this little stamp shop I have going.  For now, this is only a hobby.

I make my real money, selling international cargo space on aircraft, ships and trucks.  I specialise in the European market.  I also enjoy blacksmithing, although I have just started learning it, and reading.  My study allows me to sit in a small room at a desk and computer, and being completely surrounded by stamps and books.  I am sure that some of you can appreciate that.  It thrills me!!  I am a new father and terribly proud.  I have a loving wife who is a new Canadian, and in place of a real job, has spent 100's of hours learning the stamp business and sorting stamps, cataloguing them and putting them in packages when you good people buy something from us.  Motherhood seems to have taken up much of her time now, so this effort will be pretty much all mine going forward.  Rounding out the family are the dogs.  We have three large ones, so I do apologise if you receive a dog hair in anything I send you.  Shedding season can be a challenge around here.

Thank you for your continued support, and for the kindness in the way you have treated me during our past and future dealings.

Best regards,

Brad Fallon
