It was time for a change. Volvo Cars can get testy about someone using their name so I decided to make the change before they do. Everything else remains the same. I am still a member of Volvo Club of America and Volvo Sports America. I still love the cars and the people in both organizations. Until recently I owned a modified, mustard colored, 1971 1800E. I now own a 1998 V70 with 275,000 proud miles and a 1957 PV445 (her name is Helga) with a B20 and M41 transmission. I still love loading up my daypack with tools, lighting up a cigar and roaming through junkyards full of sharp, twisted metal and toxic chemicals looking for parts, but I do not get the opportunity as much as I used to. When I do have the time to go and I find something that I do not need, but may interest someone else, I will pick it up and post it on E Bay. And you can still feel free to email me at vtreasurehunter@verizon.net if you are looking for anything in particular. I will happily keep my eyes open or refer you to another parts source. Along with this I am now offering cargo mats for Volvo wagons, floor mats, tee shirts and more. Plus I have expanded my Volvo parts searching to looking for new and hard to find NOS and reproduction parts. You would be surprised at what I come up with. My Other Life
Until five or so years ago I made my living (and supported my Volvos) as a program administrator for an in-custody chemical dependency treatment program in Southern California. After 18 years in the mental health/chemical dependency field, I started trying to spend my time enjoying life more while still making a living. The fact is that I did not want to work for anyone else ever again. I even moved to the mountains in Southern California to get away from the city. Besides the parts hunting, accessories, memorabilia and mirror rebuilding, I also became a notary, I messed with real estate, I bought and sell whatever, and I published a book in 2001. I have written a few articles for various Volvo Club newsletters as well as online. I have also written several articles on chemical dependency and mental health issues. My book, Saving Grace, is a novel about a young woman's recovery from severe child abuse. It may be out in print one day, but right now Saving Grace is available as an "E" Book at Tyborne Hill Publishers, Fictionwise and Amazon. Today, with the bad economy and the dive real estate took, I am a slot machine technician at a local casino. And now with all the changes to eBay, I am losing interest here as well. It seems that they do a great job protecting buyers, even when they don't deserve it, but they are making it more and more difficult for sellers. What a shame. I have been here since 2001 and I feel that I have been a part of building eBay and I am not happy about where it s going.I hate to see a good Volvo part go to waste!
