Where you'll never pay more than $3.75 for shipping in the US - no matter how many CD's you buy at one time!Read on for a personal introduction, backstory and experience, and why we think "free" shipping on CD's is actually a rip-off.

Welcome, fellow music lovers!!
If music really affects you - changes your mood, gives you a rush, makes you dance, cry, or remember a great time - welcome home! Some songs are great friends of mine.
Is Tony a mental case?
Actually I prefer the term extreme music enthusiast. After what seems like a lifetime in retail management and customer service up in New Jersey, and then a few years tending bar in Florida, I packed up whatever fit in the van and spent over three years traveling around the USA (with my kitty) in search of great music you just can't find at your local FYE. Selling much of it on ebay covered the expenses.
The trip was a blast! I found some great stuff, and even met some of my ebay customers and other sellers. I had the best time in Vegas, Memphis, Detroit, L.A., Dallas, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Providence, and even Mobile, Alabama. I was able to go to nine Mariah Carey concerts (and met her in Philly - see the pic of me & Mariah (goin back like babies with pacifiers) with me shamelessly wearing an awful Mariah fan club tee-shirt on the right.) And I even got to go to the Grammy Awards that year. THAT was wild. Throw in visits to the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame and the Motown Museum, and it was a very music-oriented journey. Our story (and reputation) got around, and kitty and I were honored to be featured in a book called "eBay Powerseller Secrets" (Schep/Schep) and featured or mentioned in three other eBay books.

Sadly, we lost kitty in 2008 at age 18. I still can't bring myself to take the picture down.
We still seek out and sell those old, hard-to-find collector CD's, but we also supplement our listings with some more recent releases when we can get them at a good price; and we are an authorized dealer for Centaur Music and Unidisc. We especially love to find old dance/pop/freestyle/R&B remix CD singles (what I consider to be "my music.") We specialize in CD singles, and cater to DJ's, collectors, music nuts, and anyone else. We also carry some full-length CD's, and other genres including 80's, a little jazz and easy listening (ya have to just chill out sometimes) and showtunes. (We're always buying CD's as well!)
So what's with all the "free" shipping you are seeing from ebay sellers lately? Well, ebay is trying to encourage sellers to offer free shipping by discounting their fees a little bit if they do so (and meet certain requirements.) It sounds good in theory, but as we all know, you don't get something for nothing. Many of the sellers simply add what they would have charged for shipping right into the selling price of the item. That might work on bigger or more expensive items, but on CD's - not so much. What's the difference? Well, not so big a difference when you are only buying one CD. But as a CD seller, I can tell you that a lot of people buy more than one at a time. Most sellers offer shipping discounts when you combine those items into one order. Ah, but not if the cost of shipping is already rolled into the price of the item, right? So when you buy more than one CD at a time, you end up paying MORE, sometimes a lot more, from sellers offering "free" shipping. We think that's a gimmick and a rip-off, and prefer to be straight-up (thank you, Ms. Abdul) with our customers.
So we'll tell you honestly: we need to collect money to pay for shipping. Unfortunately, the mailman (or woman) won't take these things to you without a stamp. And when you're selling items for $4.00 each that cost you $2.00 each, and ebay gets 60 cents, and paypal gets 40 cents...well, you can see how paying for shipping out of my pocket (plus packing materials) is pretty much impossible. I love helping people out, but if I don't make enough income doing this to pay the rent, then I have to go back to bartending lol.
We think what sets us apart from other sellers is...well, partly the no-nonsense attitude you just caught a glimpse of above. (I think it comes from growing up in New Jersey lol.) No gimmicks, just a good and fair deal. We charge $3.00 (pretty much the industry standard) for one CD, for first class mail in the US. Then we charge another 75 cents if you buy more than one CD...no matter how many CD's you buy. That's not a gimmick. That's an incentive and a loyalty/rewards type program. Once you get up to 3 CD's or more (and a lot of people do) we ship using media mail, which is very inexpensive. It takes longer to arrive, but I think it's worth it for both of us. I can typically ship a good number of CD's at one time without going over that $3.75 in actual postage. And if somebody buys enough CD's to make the actual postage cost over $3.75, then I don't mind covering the rest because they've obviously bought a bunch of CD's, and I appreciate that.Another thing that sets us apart is we are large enough to have a good selection, but small enough to treat every customer like I used to treat them when they walked into a retail store where I was working. I answer all emails personally. I address any concerns fairly, and correct the occasional mistake promptly. You'll notice our feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings are among the highest of all the media sellers. That's no accident. My professional background in customer service is put to good use here. I also grade carefully and accurately, and take the time not only to type out my own descriptions (ebay's catalog often has errors) but also to type out the length of time of each track, when available. I know that's important to me when I'm buying music, and to a lot of you as well. Not to mention I am blessed to love what I do. That's a big deal! So I'd better get back to it right now. Thanks for visiting we got the beats - that song should be out of your head in a day or two!
