About Us
Hangers. We all have closets filled with them. It’s an item we use on a daily basis, many times without a second thought.
Dennis Anderson, 52, of Endicott New York, had that second thought, and decided he needed to combat some big arguments he was having between his hangers and his clothing.
A home builder and remodeler, with time spent semi professionally bowling, Dennis decided to create a new design. He got really sick and tired of either putting on a shirt and having those matching “bumps” in the shoulders, or looking for a shirt to wear, and finding it on the floor, in a crumpled up mess.
One day he went out to his workshop and starting playing with different shapes. When he got the design down for Docs Hangall, he cut the first one out of cardboard, then the second he routed out of wood. The result was a clothes hanger that could be used with larger, heavier clothing, and would eliminate the unsightly marks in the shoulders all other hangers leave. Shirts would STAY ON the hanger, and it wouldn’t bend or break with normal everyday use.

"There wasn’t anything on the market like that", Anderson said. When I traveled for bowling, I spent many nights in motels (before the iron and ironing board were a given in the rooms) and always had to get out a squirt bottle, and hair dryer, to get those ugly marks out of my shirts. Many times I had to bowl on television and having my clothes look good was important to me. It was a constant battle.
Andersons design, which he patented in 1999, has shoulders that are wide enough to help clothes stay in place, and are naturally rounded to keep the shoulder lines smooth. They are heavy duty, and actually have a multitude of uses, even beyond clothing. They wont break with normal use, and actually fit many sizes of clothing.
Our closets are so organized now, says his wife Cindy. I love how much time I save ironing, and there’s no more trying to FIX those nasty little points in the shoulders. We just put on our clothes and go!
Dennis has been in the building trades industry for over 30 years. Cindy owns and operates a daycare she has had for nearly the same amount of time. The have 4 grown children. 2 sons in the United States Air Force, a daughter with a culinary degree, managing an upscale restaurant, and a son in Craftsman truck series racing. They are the proud grandparents of their first grandchild, born in March of 2007.
