People always ask me why we charge expensive shipping and handling fee. Here we try to explain our business model so every buyer can fully understand before placing a bid.
A) Why we charge the same shipping amount even item is sold to Hong Kong bidder?
It is because we want fair trade between local (Hong Kong), asian countries and international bidders! We will charge the same amount so everyone can have equal chance to win the item. We realize in eBay it is unfair for international bidders because they need to pay for more (I mean the total amount) for the same item. Therefore, we are willing to earn less in order to maintain this equality.
We want to invite more international bidding and therefore we are subsidizing for international bidder. That implies we do not earn extra money if we sell the item to local bidder. Local bidder or bidders from Asian countries should understand this point and do not waste your time to argue any about the shipping cost (time is money).
Of course, we can offer USD 1 or 2 discount to HK or Asian (except Japan) winners only if they are polite and friendly. Our system is optimized for international shipment therefore shipment to Hong Kong and Asian countires will require special handling (thus higher operating cost) & apologize if only small discount can be made even you may think the distance is short when compare to international postage.
Sorry, we do not have local pick up services. My seller assistant is a young but charming high school graduate so it is not safe for her to meet unknown people face-to-face.
B) Why we do not offer return, replacement or refund service?
We do not have return nor refund service because shipping is really expensive (unless buyer can pay for shipping cost for both shipments). All items are sold as-is and NO return, replacement nor refund even the packaging or items are not perfectly received, non-function or even wrongly received.
In some special case buyer want to purchase two items but ship to different address. This must agree with us prior to bidding, or buyer should use two different eBay IDs to place bid because our system will automatically look through the eBay ID and combine into one shipment process with only ONE address which is picked in random. This is not to save postage cost, but to let buyer receive item in one pack for convinence during pickup (though sometimes item will still be packed in two packs because sometimes it is not efficient to combine due to form factor limitation of each items). Please note we will not be responsible for any incorrect shipment if this is not followed.
Buyer should never leave negative feedback because of these reasons. Buyer who leave us negative will be sent to blocked buyer list and apologize we cannot trade with you anymore (I will sure you will find it will be a big loss in the future especially when you want to purchase a RARE item that is very hard to find). Instead, in case if buyer have concerns or problems, he should contact us
1) if buyer can provide sufficient information to help us claim
the post office that the item is lost during shipment (we will provide
the tracking number and therefore
buyer can check the item from the post office of their location). Normally
shipment will takes 7 - 12 working days but in rare situation it will be 21
working days. Buyers are welcomed to send us message and we will do our
best to help our valued customer to find out where their items will be. Please note only Hong Kong post office can confirm us item is lost and we will offer 100% refund including postage fee if item is confirmed lost by the post office (and after we claim post office money successfully).
Of course, if buyer demands for an very fast shipment or accurate item status/location during delivery, he must use speedpost and he should contact us for quote after bidding but before payment. Speedpost upgrade requires separate payment and is non-refundable once we provide buyer the tracking number which can be viewable online.
2) if buyer receive an item that is not correct because of seller's error (please forgive my seller assistant. She is a human and certain amount of errors are understandable). Buyer must never sign for the package and let the postman return the item. Of course, he need to take a photo for a record. When item is returned, we will do replacement for him but buyer need to pay agian on the re-postage fee. If buyer signed for the item we apologize that he need to pay for both the return postage and re- postage fee for replacement. This is fair & just like you drive to a local store to make purchase. If you find item is pickup differently, you still need to drive back to the local store for replacement and then drive back to your home.
In any cases, buyer should contact us to solve any problem before leaving feedback. We are happy to do our best to make our customer satisfied! Please understand we cannot control delay/cancellation of pre-order item as well as postal services & custom clearnance therefore shipment delay or postage return/loss is never seller responsibility. It is unfair to receive negative or even neutral feedback about it. We hope positive feedback with all 5-stars in DSR rating will be received because of our great services and super-fast handling!
C) How to guarantee your item are in good condition when they arrived?
All items will ship with normal packaging (except for Japan anime girl figure with window box as mentioned above, or bulk purchase will automatically upgrade to thin carton box packing). We do not want over-packaging (though buyer may think we over-charge for packaging or shipping). We want to save the Earth by using less paper and packing materials! Basically we will use recycle paper to pack the item. A layer of bubble wrapping will be added if we think the item are weak to withstand normal shipment. Normally the packaging is able to withstand certain amount of impact and this will not damage the items inside.
We heard of some case that postage service (especially USPS and occasionally UK parcelforce) will be vigorous and I must emphasis our packing method will never satisify this harsh requirement. If buyer is too care of the packaging please communicate with us and agree with the packaging method before checkout. We will charge for additional cost (due to insurance, box packaging and additional postage fee) to meet buyer specification. Buyer should trust that we will never over-quote and earn extra money from this packaging option.
Therefore, we are sorry that we will delete and never reply any request on packaging quote unless buyer has won the bidding.
In addition, we heard some of the cases that custom or post office
from Italy or Canada has tight requirement on the parcels. Buyer from Canada
or Italy should check and provide enough shipping instruction or custom information
to us. Buyer need to pay for any additional charge due to postage return by custom or
tax/charge incurred. Or, if speedpost is the safe postage way, buyer can request
to send with speedpost but they should be responsible for this additional postage
fee before payment.
We normally use 1st class registered air mail to ship our items. It takes 7-12
working days or more for the item to arrive. Since it is international postage,
extra delay in Custom clearance should be considered. For some special occasion,
like Christmas, Easter, New Year, etc. there will be some unexpected delay due
to the holiday.
D) Why we do NOT offer combine shipping?
For multiple purchase, the total cost will be the sum of the total cost for individual items minus seller discount. Buyer should do the calculation themselves.
International shipping are calculated by weight and therefore combine shipping will increase the postage cost accordingly. In addition, my seller assistant is earning the money per items, not per shipment nor per job and therefore handling fee will also be increased proportionally, Just like what eBay/PayPal charge us for the commission fee.
To encourage multiple purchase, however, we can offer seller discount upon request (please send us your request through eBay My Message (not request for quotation as it is not monitored) after winning the bidding and we will offer USD 3 seller discount for each additional item you purchase). Please understand we are selling items with the lowest possible profit margin, so if you are affordable to pay for this, please do not request for it. We will donate this extra money for charity in some fund-raising events, or we will collect them and buy for more expensive items but selling at the lowest price. That means, bidders can gradually have more choices and this also make our business more colorful too! It is a win-win situation!
For series bidder who really want the items but want more seller discount. We are happy to discuss before bidding (after bidding, we will not entertain any negotiation on shipping reduction). Please send me your wishlist and with target cost and quantity. We will evaluate and probably will reply with a surprise (I mean good news!).
We are not the wholesalers and please do not ask for any wholesale quote. Normally you will find our item is lowered than even wholesaler price because we have very good relationship with supplier in local market as well as Japan and they are willing to offer the best price to support our business. Please note our order system is optimized to ship a maximum of SIX items at a time, so buyer may found they will have limitation if they make too many purchase. However, for high volume buyer with good relationship with us, please do not hestiate to contact us for further discussion.
E) Why the shipping cost look expensive?
I want every bidding start with USD 0.99. The number 99 in Chinese means long terms. We want long terms business in eBay and long terms relationship with our customers. That's why we want positive feedback, even we do not earn money in some of the transactions.
It is hard to define very clear, but we will try the best to explain the S&H into more details. Buyer must understand S&H refer to shipping and handling cost. This includes actual postage cost, packaging cost and handling cost. The S&H cost is clearly described in the item description and please read carefully and make sure you agreed with the charge before bidding. There is no point to argue after bidding.
Postage fee is the actual postage spent to deliver the item(s) to you. We use 1st class registered international airmail postage from Hong Kong Post (except for ASIAN countries which may uses 2nd class registered airmail). 1st class means sealed packaging, which provide the best protect against lost and damage.
Packaging fee refers to the fee to pack the item. It is the cost for the packaging material plus the labour cost to pack the item. This cost is actually not small because labour cost in Hong Kong is really expensive. In the old listings, we normally charge USD 2-5 but with the new changes in eBay feedback system, we reduce the packaging cost to only USD 1 or 2 depending on the size and packaging material to be used. Of course, this fee in the new listing is now putting into item price therefore you may find the item price for a low S&H item will be higher (but if you look at the total cost it only slightly higher, because more commission fee need to pay for eBay when the item price is higher). It is 100% normal and like what we did in the past, we are still offering the item at the most competitive price (if you use the lowest cost + shipping filter in eBay search you will understand).
Handling fee refers to the opportunity cost to put the item on auction. It may, may not or partly relate to the cost of the item. Some items has smaller handling fee even they are of high cost, it is because we believe they will sell very well and therefore the fixed cost has already been amortized and do not need a high handling fee to keep it operate. Some items has higher handling fee may because it is hard to find and we need to spend time and cost traveling from one store to another to purchase the appropriate amount for auction. We has imported items even directly from Japan (e.g., PVC figures, revoltech, figma, etc) and therefore the handling fee will become high.
In some listings, we will include eBay and PayPal fee as well as the commission for my lovely seller assistant in the handling fee. It is hard to say how much the exact eBay fee and the PayPal fee will be, because they will depend on how the listing and final sold value it will be, but this number is not small!!! If the item need more re-list before it can sell successfully, it will need more eBay fee. Similarly, if the item finally bid with high cost, it will require more eBay and PayPal fee. So, normally I will put USD 2 - 5 depending on my own judgement about the value of the item. A lower handling fee does not mean the item should sell in lower price, on the contracy, it may imply selling very well and therefore we can earn less each time by selling more. Again, with the new changes in eBay feedback system, normally we only put USD 1 or 2 hopefully to improve our DSR rating especially for S&H score.
Sometimes, we understand too high the S&H fee will discourage bidding and therefore we will have special adjustment on the packaging fee as well as the handling fee. We will lose money in the initial stage especially when buyers are not familair with the items, but we do hope to earn money by building a good relationship with our customer or even become the sole seller in eBay!
F) Why we do not reply about your request for shipping total for multiple item?
Now you can see the calculation for S&H cost is really very complex. We are not selling standard items and therefore the shipping cost will vary with different combination of items you want to purchase. However, every cost are clearly written inside the item description so buyer can calculate by themselves and this is actually a good chance to improve the Mathematics through more practice. Sometimes we are too relied on computers or calculators which, in my own opinion, is not healthy to our brain (we should let our brain to do more exercise).
Sometimes, buyer will request for shipping cost in their own currency. Again, we will recommend buyer should do it by themselves for the same reason.
Of course, if buyer really want us to do the calculation, please let me know the exact item you want and I will do it for you as a customer services. However, I cannot guarantee its accuracy because it is calculated by my brain (not calculator nor computer) and sometimes it is not functioning very well especially during night time.
