YOLIANNE, the main reason for creating "YOLY'S BARGAIN TREASURES and my health related problems!
I have a beautiful little Angel, my granddaughter YOLIANNE who is 6 y/o! She has been ill during 2006 and 2007, and so far all 2008. All the medical bills have taken a toll on her parents and grandparents.
Yolianne had been diagnosed with an Oxidative Metabolic Disorder & JUST 7 MONTHS AGO, YOLIANNE HAS ALSO BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH CELIAC DISEASE. She has been on a 99.9% Gluten Free Diet. It is not easy to find the Gluten Free foods here on the Island of Puerto Rico and especially the things that children like most; like cookies, cereals, waffles, pancakes, soups, etc. The other thing is that this food is very expensive at the Special Food Stores. My daughter lost her job 6 months ago. The bigger income of the household. My son in law works with the Government and things are not too good. His job is not secure. But my daughter needs a job that is flexible and will enable her to take Yolianne to her much needed physical and speach theraphy. Yolianne had her Gastroscopy and the Celiac Disease has been confirmed. Thank God her Duodenum was less swollen and the small intestine has repaired pretty well with the Gluten free diet. Apparently this was the serious underlying disease. Speach & physical theraphy will be continued. Yolianne graduated last May from Kinder Garden with High Honors. We are all very proud of her! Eventually if needed, she will be taken to Boston Children's Hospital, should her condition deteriorate. In the meantime, we deal with the symptoms as they appear with the groups of specialists. She catches the viruses and throat infections that are around and then we land in the Hospital to hidrate her and make sure that her blood levels indicate what is causing the 40.5 degree fever. Our Lord Almighty and all his Angels and Earth Angels are with Yolianne and I just know that he is right by her side keeping her strong and safe!
Also changes are seen on her lungs. She has asthma. She is already on treatment. A Nefrologist tested her kidneys and thank God they are ok. He gave both parents a great orientation on how to keep them that way and what to look for when strong meds are prescribed.
THIS YEAR YOLIANNE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE INSURANCE FOR MEDICINES AFTER THE MONTH OF JULY, 2006. SHE HAD ALREADY USED ALL THAT WAS ALLOWED. THIS IS HORRIBLE, SINCE JUST ONE MED COSTS $300.00 THIS IS WHY WE MUST HELP HER MORE THAN EVER!

My GFR, is 52, plus Creatinine Cleareance is 1.10, (which measures how well the kidneys work) is low and a Nephrologist will see me on Tuesday. As per a Doctor, she said that they are working at half their capacity. This scares me. I am not doing well at all with my uncontrolled diabetes that is again all over the place. My Pancreas has reduced it's production of insulin even more. My diabetes is not under control and I am using 2 types of insulin plus 2 different meds. I know emotions are a clue here. I have a lot of faith and I am very positive that God Almighty is with us and will help me through this ordeal.
